Colombia 2019 – Day 6 – March 13, 2019

Today is Wednesday, March 13th, 2019. We have been in Brisas del Mar, Colombia for 5 days. From Monday to Friday we are doing construction. Today, all of us had separate jobs for most of the morning and then around 11am, we started doing cement. It was made with powdered cement, water and rocks. We mixed it together using shovels and then we put some in buckets to carry over to the holes in the ground that we finished digging for the foundation. A lot of people were complaining today that their muscles are hurting. It was a lot of work for us because we don’t usually use all those muscles in our body on a daily basis. We ate breakfast today at 7am; we had cereal and bananas or apples with it. After breakfast was done, we worked until lunch. For lunch, everyone ate chicken, potatoes, rice and patacones (a very popular food in Colombia). Since I am vegetarian and our translator/group leader, ELizabeth, is also vegetarian we ate pasta instead of chicken and potatoes. After lunch, we got to hang out for a bit and then we went to a small village called, “Vista Hermosa.” There we read the kids the bible story, “Jonah and the Whale” in Spanish and then the kids made a game as a craft that looked like a whale. What’s worse, it can cause severe mental damages, such as self-abasement, anxiety, depression, loss of confidence and low self -esteem, among men. viagra canada price In such a case you cialis in the uk should end up making them your first choice. They attached a balloon full of rice to a plastic blue cup with a piece of long string. The bag of rice represents Jonah and the blue cup represents the whale. The object of the craft/game is to hold the cup and swing the balloon high enough in the air so you can catch the balloon in the cup. The kids seemed so happy with it and their smiles put a smile on my face. After everyone was done making their craft, we took the truck back to Brisas del Mar. As of now, we are just relacing for the rest of the day. Some of us are playing card games and some of us are having conversations. The kids in this community usually hang out with us and later on they usually start a dance party with us after dinner. Around 9:30pm we will have a group prayer and talk about our good moments and bad moments of the day. As well as where we saw God today. That’s it for Day 6 in Colombia. Parents: if you see this, we will see you in 5 days!
Sincerely,
Elexa
