Community
Community is so powerful and so important. I saw that a lot today. Through us as a group, through the people of Brisas, and through the community we’ve created between the two. Today, after I woke up from sharing a bed with two other people, we had church. There were a lot of differences but also many similarities. I spent the sermon having my hair braided by two little girls. Pretty fun but my hair now has even more knots than before. There were many messages within the sermon but my biggest takeaway was the realization of our reliance on material objects. After lunch and church we went on a tour of the community which felt very welcoming.

After the tour the band got together. Caleb, Flo, Grace and I wrote a song with a little spoken word, kinda fun. After the tour the real fun began. Dance, dance, dance. We had some youth to youth time and that’s when we really created community. We all danced, Flo kinda showed us all up (but its fine), and we all got some time to dance with the youth in the community. After we got to take some photos with some of the older youth.
